“Art is a connector, a communicator, a human voice for complex ideas. Art challenges the status quo and provides alternatives. Art serves as a catalyst of change.”

I successfully completed my masters studies with a thesis about how artists and art institutions adopt to the growing pressures of the climate crisis. The findings of my extensive research for the thesis inspired me so much that I founded my blog eARTh - How arts & culture work for our planet which you will find here. In it I share inspirational content, projects or people that I find worth knowing about.

But my hunger was not completely satisfied yet. I further educated myself and trained both with the Aktionsnetzwerk Nachhaltigkeit in Kultur und Medien and the Institut für Zukunftskultur. With the solid base of knowledge, competences and skills, I have been working as a sustainability manager and coach, author as well as speaker since November 2021. Since then I have supported a growing amount of clients – cultural institutions, associations and festivals – in integrating aspects of sustainability in their business operations in their very own way.

My role as a Transformation Manager for Sustainability in the Arts? Orchestrating a symphony of change.

  • Arts and culture possess a unique ability to impact us on an emotional level, bypassing our rationality. This profound influence reshapes our behavior, challenging the frameworks and ideologies we’ve constructed. Through this emotional connection, we find new perspectives and avenues for growth. In this transformative journey, we recognize the imperative to live respectfully within the planet's boundaries, realizing it as the foundation of our quality of life.

  • To empower individuals and institutions in the arts and cultural field to break through limiting mindsets and behaviors. I guide them in developing creative, socially, and ecologically sustainable structures. Through my support, I inspire a conscious, environmentally-responsible approach to production and working methods, fostering a more sustainable future.

  • I claim for a new understanding of the correlation between human and natural well-being as well as the importance and reinforcement of values to base our decisions and actions on. I believe in the power of the arts to function as a driver for a more conscious and environmentally-friendly behaviour.
